Millie passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, December 9, 2008 and will be deeply missed. She was born on a farm near Petrel, North Dakota on November 4, 1917. The youngest child and only daughter of Nellie Bell Anderson and Joseph Sophier Paranto, she attended high school in Lemmon, South Dakota, Hettinger, North Dakota, and graduated in Yelm, Washington in 1937. She attended Business College in Tacoma, Washington until 1938. Mildred returned to North Dakota where she met and married Henry Wolfe before returning to Washington where their son, Gregory Dean Wolfe, was born in 1942. Millie had a long business career, working in the Pasco City Clerk's office from 1948 to 1950, then in the Welch's Foods office from 1951 until she retired in 1979. She filled her retirement years enjoying her grandchildren and became an avid volunteer. She spent numerous hours volunteering for the hospital auxiliary, knitting baby items and, more recently, hats for U.S. soldiers serving abroad. Her granddaughters always enjoyed hearing about their family history and were impressed and inspired by her memory and ability to care for herself until the last day of her life. Mildred is preceded in death by her son, husband, parents and six brothers. She is survived by her two granddaughters, April Callo and Amber Wolfe; great grandson, Rowan Rossiter; two nephews, Arlan and Craig Paranto and niece, Kay Singletary. Graveside services were held on Friday, December 12, 2008 at Desert Lawn Memorial Park in Kennewick, WA.
