Michael Dennis Philmlee of Kennewick, Washington, passed away suddenly at the age of 74 at his home on Wednesday, April 15th, 2026.
Michael was born December 1st, 1951 in Yakima, Washington, to Floyd and Julia Philmlee.
Michael had horses in high school and loved animals. He was a Vietnam veteran, and worked as a truck driver for much of his life hauling everything from flamable materials to Watermelons. He was in the Teamster's Union, and worked for Penford Food Ingredients for a large portion of his career. He was especially proud of his several awards, including a challenging 'Clean Truck Award.'
Michael liked to spend time with his grandkids, who called him 'papa.' He was a devoted Seahawks fan and enjoyed riding his Harley. He enjoyed many trips to the zoos and aquariums in Oregon and Washington. He enjoyed camping and fishing, especially along the Oregon coast. At the time of his passing, Michael still wished to see Yellowstone Park, Niagra Falls, and
the Grand Canyon in person.
Michael is survived by his spouse of forty-nine years: Sherri Philmlee, and by his three children Amber, Michael, and Charm, plus nine grandchildren, Victor, Tucker, Rory, Buckley, Eli, Paxton, Austin, Tyler Cafferty and his son and Tristen Cafferty and her children, and two siblings William and Linda.
Preceding Michael in death are his parents, Floyd, Julia, Elizabeth, and brother Richard.
