On November 26, 2017 our beloved brother, husband, son, father and friend Michael Dorton left his earthly home to be reunited in Heaven with all of the loved ones that left before him. While our hearts are saddened and filled with pain, we must be reminded of what the writer wrote, "To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord." Michael knew that God had him. He was always a pure joy to be around. All activities and functions that Mike attended, he was indeed the life of the celebration. Mike loved attending sporting events and activities as possible. Always wanting to support and encourage others is what made him happy. Mike was a devoted husband to his wife Cynthia Silva Dorton for 17 years (together for 18). Mike loved all of his children but he and his daughter Maleah Silva Dorton had a very special bond. She is his pride and joy, his twin. She loves her daddy dearly. Mike leaves behind his 7 children Nathan Quintero, Jaden Quintero, Maleah Silva Dorton, Kylee Quintero, and son Noah, Jodice Hall, Isaiah Hunter and Mishayla Hunter. His siblings Tina Deleon, Joe Nelson, Tammy Nelson, Doug Dorton, Anna Dorton and Robert Nelson. Also a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family. Most importantly his two grandsons Adrian and Damion. He also leaves behind a host of friends that were like family. But none like his brother LaVaine Tate. Mike was preceded in death by his mother Alsenia Dorton, his biological father Theo Dickerson, his biological mother Susan Morrison and lifelong friend Donye Guice. Our family would like to thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for the out poring of love and support during this very trying time. Always remember he may be gone physically but he lives on through the memories. Hold on to them.
