MICHAEL DEAN BALDING

ON-EARTH-12/09/1960 – IN-HEAVEN-05/05/2024

Michael Dean Balding,63, was born to Beryl and Jack Balding on December 9, 1960. Michael was a High School graduate and found talents in shop class and mathematics. Michael possessed gifts for fixing things and thinking outside the box to problem solve. Michael would learn how to fix his own bike and would help his friends to fix theirs as well. Mike would be the first of his crew of friends to get his drivers license and to get a job. Mike would land a job as a busboy first and then would be promoted to cook when the cook at the restaurant did not show up for work one day. Michael worked for Denny's, VIP's, and The Thunderbird restaurant in Yakima. Mike moved on to become the Valley Mall Maintenance Manager in Yakima. This is where his strong work ethic and integrity shined. Michael hard work was noticed by The Bon Marche' in that mall and was offered a full-time Building Maintenance position which he accepted. Michael demonstrated a real gift for building maintenance with skill and precision. Michael honed his craft making him very respected. Michael decided to transfer to an open position for building maintenance at the Columbia Center Bon Marche' in Kennewick, Washington. Michael rose to ever challenge they put in front of him and mastered it with the grace of God. Michael believed deeply in the grace of God and would often quote Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me". Mike was a very hard-working man of God who wanted to pull his weight.

Michael had the best sense of humor and often teased his family and friends. Family and marriage was very important to Michael. This sentiment only grew when his daughter Ashley was born in 1987. Michael sensitivity helped him achieve a deeper understanding and love for Family. Michael was married in 2000. Michael took his marriage vows very seriously and conducted himself honorably. Michael's happy place was with the many doggies he had over the years and caring for the horses. His love for them was profound so when he found out that his beloved boxer girl Dreamy's heart would skip a beat, the vet asked Michael if he wanted to share his pacemaker and Michael said he would take it out and give it to her. Michael had valiantly battled multiple life-threatening illnesses and would look forward to getting his new body and giving Jesus a hug when he was called by name by his heavenly father.
