Max Alan Tucker, of Kennewick, Washington passed away on May 17th, 2026 after batting pneumonia and went to be with his Lord at the age of 75.

He was born on August 18th, 1950, in Boise, Idaho to Donald and Carolyn Tucker. He graduated from Kennewick High School in 1968 and went on to become a foreman with the Pasters and Cement Masons.

He worked in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana on well-known buildings including Sacred Heart Hospital, The Spokane Convention Center, Lewis and Clark, Pasco, and Chiawana High Schools, Walla Walla State Penitentiary, numerous strip malls in the Tri-Cities including multi-million-dollar jobs and also private homes spanning a career of more than 40 years until his retirement. He was well known and a respected legend throughout the plastering and cement masons’ community.

He entered the plastering profession when he was just 13 years old carrying hod for his father and Dick Bennett until he became a plaster himself and eventually promoted to the role of foreman which he maintained until retiring.

In junior high, he met Leuna (Lou) Smitch, they became teenage sweethearts dating through junior high and high school until they married on April 19th, 1969 in Kennewick, Washington. He went on to have two children: Kelly Tucker (Chadduck) and Andrew Townsend.

In retirement, Max enjoyed family gatherings, fishing, collecting antique cars and traveling with his wife to Mexico and Alaska. Family and friends were very important to him and he made a point of staying in contact with grandchildren, nieces, nephews and close friends. His gregarious and larger than life personality meant, he never met a stranger. He easily befriended others, shaking their hand and taking a genuine interest in their life and hobbies, leaving a lasting impression with both his deep booming voice and contagious, boisterous laugh.

Max is survived by his daughter, Kelly Chadduck: (Bob, Alex and Stephanie), son Andrew Townsend (Dylan, Conor and Eve); sisters, Chris Cravens (Mike), Julie Tucker and Tracy Johnson (Dan).

He was proceeded in death by his wife Leuna (Lou) Tucker, father, Donald Tucker; and mother, Carolyn Albert.

Max will be greatly missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 1st at 3:30pm at the Living Room Church located at 1409 S. Garland Street Kennewick, Washington.
