Max Leroy Lewis, 74, peacefully passed away July 20th, 2012 in Pasco, WA with his wife by his side. He is survived by his wife Brooke; his sister Nola; daughters Gina, Debe, Rebecca and Britany; sons Chuck, Jay, Sean and Chad; and 19 grandchildren. Max served in the United States Air Force as a Staff Sergeant from 1955 - 1971. In his younger years Max enjoyed camping, hunting, and fishing with his family. Later on, one of his great passions was spending time working on computers. He would spend countless hours building and repairing computers or spending his time reading about them. Max worked for a time in the Forest Service, but spent most of his life as an educator. Early on in his teaching career he taught public school in Troy, MT, but for most of his career he taught inmates CAD at the Washington State Penitentiary in Walla Walla, WA and the Washington State Reformatory in Monroe, WA. Max was a family man and leaves behind many great memories for his family and friends. He had a goofy sense of humor that would either leave you looking at him curiously or shaking your head and laughing out loud. He was a very intelligent and analytical man and passed a long his strong belief in education to his children. He was also a very hard working man and instilled a strong work ethic in his kids. Through his family and friends Max leaves behind a loving and lasting legacy. He was a good husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and an overall good man. He will be sorely missed and not soon forgotten.
