M. Ray Seitz
July 30, 1934 – November 17, 2024
Kennewick, WA – In loving memory of Ray Seitz, long time resident of Pasco. Ray was born in Walla Walla, the son of James and Adina Seitz, and passed away peacefully with family at the Tri Cities Chaplaincy Hospice House in Kennewick. He married his beloved wife, Mary Jane, in 1958, and is survived by her, their two children, Roger (Jolene) and Jeff (Sherry), and one grandson, Matthew. He also leaves behind many friends and extended family, including long-time friends Tanya and her son Julian.
Ray was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and attended Washington State University, studying Biology and earning a Doctorate in Education. He taught high school for five years in Connell before moving to Pasco to teach at Columbia Basin College, leading the Math and Science Division for many of his 25 years there. After retiring from CBC, he worked in training at the Hanford Site for five years. He was active in the community as a member of the Pasco Lions Club and the Kiwanis Club for many years.
Ray and Mary Jane are members of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Kennewick. They travelled the world together on many ocean and river cruises; a love that they passed to their children. He was an avid Seattle Mariners and WSU Cougars fan. He enjoyed getting together with friends and family for coffee or breakfast. He was also quick to strike up a conversation with a stranger to make a new friend.
Private services will be held, and his ashes will be interred at St. Paul's Episcopal Church. In lieu of flowers, if you wish, donations may be made in Ray's memory to the Kadlec Tri-Cities Cancer Center or Tri Cities Chaplaincy Hospice House.
