Matthew Robert Doffing age 52, of Kennewick passed away surrounded by his living family January 30, 2007. Matt was born on October 1, 1954 in St. Louis, Missouri to Don and Janice Doffing. Matt spent most of his childhood in Las Vegas, Nevada. He joined the Marines at age 16, where he worked in the motor pool and learned Auto Mechanics. He later enjoyed working on his own cars and helping out others when he could. Matt enjoyed playing pool and darts and riding his bike, camping and fishing and spending a lot of time with his children and grand children. It helped him stay young at heart and have a free spirit. He enjoyed spending time with his ?Honey? Veronica. He became a jack of all trades through the years and liked working outdoors, eventually becoming a grounds keeper at the Riverview Heights Cemetery in Kennewick where he enjoyed working for the past four years. Surviving Mathew are his sisters; Cary Doffing of Richland, Connie and brother in law Keith Howell of Kennewick, Jenice Wisdom and fiancé Charlie Rosenkranz of Richland. Matthew was a good, kind and loving father to his children; Angel of Los Angeles, Ca., Amy of Clarkston, Washington, Debbie of Orofino, Idaho, Tanya and Matthew both of Clarkston, Washington, Veronica, Ronald and Roger all of Pennsylvania, and Michael of Kennewick, Washington. He had 13 grandchildren. Matthew was preceded in death by his parents Don and Janice Doffing Wisdom and his brother Michael Doffing, his daughter Elizabeth and niece Christa Garcia. The family wishes to express our warmest appreciation to Veronica Baca, Matthews finance and her family for the loving care she and her family gave Matthew during his illness. Matthew will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him; he was a wonderful person with a Big Big Heart. A hospitality gathering will be held at Muellers Chapel of the Falls, 314 W. 1st Ave., Kennewick on February 6, 2007 at 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations in Matthew Doffing?s name to the family.
