Mary Patricia Walkup was born October 4, 1926, in Sand Springs, Oklahoma to Thomas G. and Minnie M. Wisherd. She attended high school at Holy Family in Tulsa Ok. Pat then Attended Oklahoma State University, graduating in 1947 with chemistry and mathematics majors. Pat worked for an oil company for 3 years, then accepted a position as a chemist with GE in 1951.That year she met the love of her life Paul Walkup, they were married in 1952. Pat continued to work several years, but then couldn't cope with day/swing shift work and left to become a full time homemaker. She remained a devout Roman Catholic. With Paul they became avid dog owners/ trainers, primarily the Belgian breeds. Pat was very skilled as a dog trainer, gaining several AKC championships and numerous Obedience titles during the succeeding 45 years. Pat was the love of Paul's life making numerous trips to Europe and throughout the Northwest. There will be a Funeral Mass Monday, October 5, 2015 at 11:00 am. At Christ the King Catholic Church, 1122 Long Ave., Richland, WA 99354. Inurnment will follow at Desert Lawn Memorial Park in Kennewick.
