Mary Ellen Powers (Nena) 66, was born on May 18, 1949 to Carmen and Sixto Lopez in San Angelo, Texas, and peacefully returned to the Lord on March 23, 2016 at the Tri-Cities Chaplaincy Hospice House. Mary Ellen grew up in San Angelo and moved to the Tri-Cities in 1976 where she met the love of her life, John; they married on October 16, 1982. Mary worked at Areva for 21 years as a Computer Programmer, and most recently as the Purchasing Coordinator at the Hanford Reach Interpretive Center. Mary lived life to its fullest. She loved to travel, shop, and dance. Her happiest moments were spent surrounded by loved ones. She is survived by her husband John Powers, son James Powers, daughter Jennifer Wang, grandchildren Jacob Corbin, Kristen Boyle, father Sixto Lopez, and siblings Grace Cassidy (Tom), Abel Lopez (Elva), Gilbert (Emma), Marti Villanueva (John), Gili Lopez (Maribel), Sixto Lopez Jr. (Marilu), Jesse (Missy), Carmen Cavazos (Danny), and her beloved cats. A service will be held for Mary on Saturday, March 26th 2016 at 1:00pm, at the Richland Church of Christ, 933 Thayer Dr., Richland, WA 99352. Reception to follow.
