Mary Kay
Murray
Jan 24, 1947 — Jul 26, 2023
Mary Kay Murray, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed on July 26th. Her loving husband of 49 years, John, awaited, having passed one year and 11 months to the day prior. She is survived by her 4 children, Johnnie, Melodie, Jason, and Jaime; 5 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, plus one more she eagerly anticipated spoiling, and one great-great granddaughter. Mary was born in Hammond, Indiana to Paul and Margaret Yonaka. She was the youngest of 3 children raised in Anaheim, California. She was raised with a strong spiritual faith instilled by her father and enjoyed being part of the church choir for many years. Mary studied to become an RN, a job she enjoyed, working in an OB-GYN office for many years. Her true focus was her family. Rasing her kids with all the attention and activities they could ever need, always putting her own needs last.
Once Mary's kids were grown and her husband John retired, they relocated to the Tri Cities to live near their grandchildren and enjoy the next phase of their life. Which they did with trips to the casino and family dinners. Their lives were full of love and enjoyment.
Mary spent the last couple years of her life surrounded by her family and making new friends. She had a positive and happy outlook that was infectious. It would be rare to find Mary without a smile. Her strength to persevere and thrive after the loss of her partner and our Dad, was a source of pride and inspiration to her children and grandchildren. Her bubbly personality, how she never let a birthday pass without a card, and the way she loved us will be greatly missed.
