Mary Helen Ladner Shook went to be with her Lord on September 22, 2011. She was born August 30, 1914 at Poplarville, Mississippi, daughter of Victoria and Elijah Ladner. She had one brother Hurbert Ladner and one sister Ida Campbell, both deceased. Mary was married in 1934 to Charles F. Shook, her husband of 60 years, who preceded her in death. They had seven children, Donald C. Shook Kennewick, WA, Mary Joyce Carey Newport, WA, Linda Dean Harrison, Idaho, Gloria O'Donnell Everett, WA, Gary Shook Spokane, WA, and Norma Jean Morgan and Delorse Nolan, both previously deceased. Mary had 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was a charter member of the Kennewick First Baptist Church. Mary worked as a receptionist at Hanford Environmental Health until she retired. Mary was very active as a church member until she moved to Royal Columbian and then to Callaway Gardens. Mary loved her children sew, cook, gardening and her flowers. She enjoyed making arrangements for the church alter and traveling. We will always love and cherish her smiling face and giving ways, but knowing that she is rejoicing in Heaven without any further pain or suffering. Viewing will be held Wednesday, September 28th, 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home, 1401 S. Union Street, Kennewick, with a graveside service to begin at 2:30 p.m. at Desert Lawn Memorial Park.
