February 1, 1937 – September 27, 2025,
In loving memory of Mary Jane Seitz, long time resident of Pasco. Mary Jane was born in Seattle, the daughter of Albert and Gwen Rogers. She passed away peacefully after spending her last days with family at Kadlec Hospital in Richland.
Mary Jane attended Whitman College and Washington State University, earning a bachelor's degree in Education. She married her beloved husband, Ray, in 1958, the two loved to travel and visited many parts of the world together on numerous ocean and river cruises. She taught 4th grade in Connell for five years before moving to Pasco. While raising her family, she worked for many years as a substitute teacher in Pasco and also worked in the Library at McGee Elementary. She was active with the Delta Gamma sorority and the P.E.O. Sisterhood, and also volunteered for a variety of organizations around the Tri-Cities, including Tri-Cities Chaplaincy Hospice House.
Mary Jane's favorite hobbies were playing the piano and reading books. She enjoyed watching Seattle Mariners and Washington State Cougar games on television with her husband and meeting with friends for coffee or meals. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Kennewick and was a committed volunteer, always willing to step in at a moment's notice.
She is survived by her two children, Roger (Jolene) and Jeff (Sherry), and one grandson, Matthew. She also leaves behind many friends and extended family, including Tanya and her son Julian.
Private services will be held, and her ashes will be interred at St. Paul's Episcopal Church. In lieu of flowers, if you wish, donations may be made in Mary Jane's memory to Tri-Cities Chaplaincy Hospice House, or Cottey College, Nevada, Missouri.
