Mary C. Davenport was born on June 11th 1953 to Rene and Alma (Beausejour) Laroche, in Pawtucket Rhode Island. She passed away on January 09, 2025.

Married to Raymond Davenport on November 30th 1973. In 1976 they welcomed a Baby Girl into the family, Mary was always a working mother, sometimes working 2 jobs to help support the family.

As a Navy wife she was able to go with Ray when he was transferred to the Island of Guam and then to Seattle. She always found a job wherever they were stationed. Upon Ray's discharge from the Navy, they relocated to Burbank, Washington, where she went to work for K-Mart. Then eventually going to work at Hanford. After several years at Hanford, she decided to go back to school to get her degree, eventually earning her Master's Degree.

While working full time and taking night classes, she still found time to continue her volunteer work with 4-H and in 2002 was inducted into the Washington State 4-H Hall of Fame, honoring her work with youth development, and later she volunteered with Junior Achievement.

With all that on her plate she still had time to enjoy being a grandmother, playing Bingo and Bunko, and spending time with her friends in her LYLAS (Love Ya Like a Sister) group.

She resigned from her Handford job and followed Ray when he was transferred to Whidbey Island, where she was hired to work at Boeing in Everett, Washington.

When Ray retired, they relocated to Kennewick, Washington, then she went back to work at Hanford. When she was considering retiring, she was recruited to work for (MIT) Massachusetts Institute of Technology. A job she loved.

She retired from MIT when she was stricken with ALS.

While in New England she was able to spend time with her sisters and brother.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Rene and Alma Laroche, brothers; Rene and Jimmy Laroche, sisters; Margie Blom and Alma Schmitt, and niece Zona Chandler.

Mary is survived by her husband, Ray Davenport, daughter; Lisa Jo Davenport, grandchildren; Abigail Rae Stanley, Kali Jo Stanley, Larry Owen Arcy Stanley, and great grandson Ramon Xavier Morfin.

Also survived by sisters; Louise James, Jeanie Barns, Betty Slone, Rita Ducharme, Laura Noyes, brothers; Tony Laroche, and Mathew Laroche as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
