Obituary

Martha Maybelle Willis "Mae" was born on October 31, 1922, in Tecumseh, Oklahoma, went very peacefully to join her family in Heaven on November 30, 2008 at Richland, Washington. She joined her husband William Martin Willis that she had been longing to see for a very long time, her parents Lanford and Annie Black, sisters Angie Nicholson, Ruth Williams and Ella Brit and great grandson Christian Michael Willis. She leaves behind her sister Dean Robert Lumsden of Lake Oswego, OR, sister-in-law Dorotha Muir of Anchorage, AK; six children Wanda Louise Jim Burrell of Mansfield, MO, William Leon Carolyn Willis of Finley, WA, Donna Joy Roger Ibarra-Curtis of Pasco, WA, Martin Leo Isabel Willis of Kennewick, WA, Stephen Paul Willis of Tri-Cities, WA and Gary Wayne Ann Willis of Spokane, WA; special grandson Anthony Wayne Willis of Tri-Cities, WA; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She came to Richland, Washington with her husband in 1944 to work on the Manhattan Project and spent most of their life in the Tri-Cities with the last remaining ones in Kennewick. Her main occupation was being a wife and mother then later becoming a waitress for many years. Mom was a wonderful cook and made the best biscuits and cream pies in the world. She was involved with the jail ministry of the Word of Faith Center where she was a member. Viewing will be Thursday, December 4, 2008, 5pm to 8pm, at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home located at 1401 S. Union Street in Kennewick. Funeral Services will be Friday, December 5th, 10:00am, also at Mueller's with grandson Anthony Wayne Willis officiating. Her final resting place will be next to her husband at Desert Lawn Memorial Park.
