1952-2016 Mark Dale Mathes went to be with his Lord and Savior on February 3, 2016 in Pasco, Washington. He is proceeded in death by his sister, Mary, father, Dale and mother, Iva. He was a loving husband and best friend to his wife, Elaine, a wonderful father to Tyler and Shaina Mathes, Christopher and Jo Hawk and Leigh Ann and Alex Martinez. He was an amazing grandfather (GP) to Kyle, Isaac, Ryan, Shayla, Paige, Mila and Jack. He is also survived by his brother, Matt and Evelyn Mathes and his niece, Anna Mathes. Mark was born in Pasco, Washington on February 10, 1952. He attended Pasco schools and graduated from Pasco High in 1970. He then attended Eastern Oregon College in La Grande, Oregon where he played middle-linebacker for the Mountaineer's and was captain his junior and senior year. After graduating with an education degree in 1974, he answered the call for teachers by the Australian government. He taught high school economics in Melbourne for three years. Upon his return to the States, he obtained his MBA from the University of Oregon in 1978. The Tri-Cities was always home, so after returning home he taught economics at Columbia Basin College. He then started his career as a financial advisor, first with Merrill-Lynch, then Paine Webber and finally retiring from UBS Financial Services in 2007. Retiring for Mark provided him another opportunity. He decided to pursue a PhD. In 2014 he graduated Delta Mu Delta, Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration from Northcentral University. He then taught a hybrid business class for his old Alma Mater, which is now Eastern Oregon University. Throughout Mark's life, he has met wonderful people and made many lasting friendships. He cared deeply for each and every one of his clients and friends. He loved his Lord, his family and fishing. Of all his awards and accomplishments being a "Hollow Tube" for his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was his greatest and lasting achievement. He wanted to be a testimony to those who he loved and came into contact. 1 Corinthians 15:58 "Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord." Visitation will be Friday, February 12, 2016 from 4:00 p.m to 7:00 p.m. at Mueller's Greenlee Funeral Home, 1608 W. Court St. in Pasco. A memorial service will be Saturday, February 13, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Riverview Baptist Church, 4900 W. Richardson in Pasco, Washington.
