Marjorie Petersen passed away peacefully at Kadlec Hospital on March 25th, 2014. Born to Floyd and Mazzie Williams in Beatrice, Nebraska on August 1, 1927, she was the oldest of three children and has stayed close to her family, and to her husband's family. After graduating from Business College, Marjorie worked as the Administrative Assistant to the State Treasurer of Oregon. After moving to the Tri-Cities in 1957, she enjoyed working at the Girl Scouts and as an accountant for the American Red Cross. Marjorie was always active and involved, teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, fostering babies, leading Blue Birds and Campfire Girls, and helping with 4H. Marjorie is survived by her husband of 61 years, Elmer; her two daughters, Debra (Mark) Huston and Linda Hoover; and two granddaughters whom she loved so very much and was very proud of - Amy Huston and Bethany Huston. She is also survived by her sister, Shirley Shreeve, and her brother Charles (MJ) Williams. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any memorial gifts be given to Redeemer Lutheran Church (520 Thayer Drive, Richland). There will be an open viewing 5 to 8 PM on Friday, March 28th at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home (1401 S. Union St., Kennewick). A graveside service will be at 10 AM Saturday, March 29 at Desert Lawn Memorial Park (1401 S. Union Street) with a memorial service at Redeemer Lutheran Church (520 Thayer Dr., Richland) following at 11 AM. Rest in Peace, we love you.
