Marjory Evelyn Arnold passed away at the Hospice of the Valley facility in Surprise AZ on October 25. Margie was proceeded in death by Doc her husband of 57 years. She is survived by a sister, Virgie Martens Albert, a brother, Ralph Kirkham, four children, Shirley Ostboe, Terry Arnold Helen, Dan Arnold Billie Jean, Steven Arnold Patty; 22 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren. Margie was born on July 6, 1924 in Canton, OK, the middle of seven children born to Ezra and Myrle Kirkham. Growing up during the depression on a farm provided Margie with strength, character and determination for which she was known. Following a brief marriage to Tilford Pritchard, she and her two children moved to Washington State. While working as a telephone operator in Yakima, she met and married Doc Arnold. They moved to Kennewick where they resided for 16 years adding Dan and Steve to their family. When Hanford downsized in the 1960's the family bought an asparagus farm and relocated to Sunnyside. In 1994 Margie and Doc moved for the last time returning to Kennewick, During their years following retirement, Marge and Doc became "snowbirds" spending summers in the Tri-Cities and winters in Surprise, Arizona. Through out her life Marge enjoyed the benefits of her many talents. Born with perfect pitch and an ability to play musical instruments by ear, she and her brother Ralph taught themselves guitar and piano and sang together for years. Carrying her keyboard wherever she traveled Margie could be counted on to entertain or provide accompaniment. She enjoyed several years as a member of the Sunflower Resort Choir. It was in her 50's that Margie began painting, producing beautiful water colors and acrylics for friends and family. Services will be held Monday, November 3, 2008 at 1:00 PM at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home, 1401 S. Union St, Kennewick, WA 99338. In lieu of flowers the family wishes donations to be made to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, AZ 85014.
