Lynne Margaret Gallinger, was born in Seattle, WA, December 5, 1945 to Frederick Charles and Margaret Catherine (Amberg) Gallinger. She passed from this life January 8, 2015. Lynne graduated from Franklin High School in 1964 and attended Edison Vocational for a semester after high school. Lynne enjoyed her time with Job's Daughters and the high school flag dance team and marching in the Seattle Seafair Parades. Lynne began her career doing volunteer work at University of Washington in Central Supply laundry facilities and the cafeteria. She worked at Goodwill Industries sorting and pricing. One of the positions she enjoyed was at United Cerebral Palsy sheltered workshop, where she was able to feel a sense of accomplishment by helping others less able than herself. Lynne also worked at Columbia Industries in Kennewick. Lynne was eager to move from her parents' home to a more independent living situation with a live-in attendant. She eventually found a good match with Karen McLean. They lived together for 18 years and became close friends and had many good times together - enjoying the same music, movies, riding the Puget Sound ferries, and bus travels. In April 2005, Lynne moved with her mother to Kennewick, WA, to be close to her sister Dianne Locke and family. Subsequently, her sister Karen Marcum and family also moved to Kennewick. Family gatherings were very important to Lynne. Holidays and birthdays were spent sharing meals, love and laughter. Lynne was preceded in death by her father Frederick Gallinger. She is survived by her mother, Margaret, sisters Karen (Jerry) Marcum, Dianne (Gary) Locke, and brother Mark Gallinger. She is survived by five nieces and four nephews, Aunt Maureen Gallinger, Uncle Jack and Aunt Marjorie Amberg. The family would like to express our heartfelt appreciation for the loving care and friendships Lynne enjoyed during her years at the Talley Adult Family Home and also to Kadlec's doctors and nurses for their gentle loving treatment during her final days in their care. A Memorial Service will be held at Columbia Lakewood Community Church in Seattle, WA, on April 12, 2015, at 2:00 p.m.
