Louise Irene Clark Shaffer, was born September 7, 1924 in Davis County, Iowa. She entered the U.S. Navy April 1, 1945, and served until honorably discharged on July 25, 1947. Louise was stationed at Hunter College in New York City for training; Bethesda Naval Medical Center in Washington, D.C.; naval hospitals at Farragut, Idaho and Bremerton, WA. where she was honorably discharged in 1947. Louise married Dean Porter Shaffer on October 28, 1949 at the First United Methodist Church in Pasco. Louise and Dean retired in October 1987 in Prosser, moved to Connell again in 1990. Louise is survived by her adopted son Marc Dean Shaffer of Idaho, and daughter Deana Shaffer Dougherty of Connell. She was preceded in death by her husband Dean Shaffer and adopted daughter Lynann Lee Lyle. Services will be held on Friday, October 10, 2014 at the Connell Nazarene Church, 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery, then a lunch back at the church.
