Louis Braden Burkholder entered into eternal rest on November 6, 2025, passing away peacefully. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend, and his presence will be profoundly missed. His keen sense of humor and his enduring generosity left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Mr. Burkholder was born in Yakima, Washington, on October 26, 1953. He was raised on the Burkholder family farm, where he developed a strong work ethic and formed many treasured memories with his siblings. Life on the farm offered both responsibility and adventure—caring for daily chores, building forts, leaping from haystacks, riding bicycles and Honda 50s, and later graduating to the Mustangs that became a hallmark of their high school years.

He attended Whitstran Elementary School and Prosser High School, where he was actively involved in football, band, and drama. The Burkholder family also participated in the life of the Prosser Presbyterian Church. Following his graduation, Mr. Burkholder pursued technical training in Portland, Oregon, while working at a local forge. Upon completing his certification, he established a long and steady career in the region, ultimately serving with distinction at Umatilla Electric in Umatilla, Oregon.

A dedicated sports enthusiast, Mr. Burkholder enjoyed a wide range of athletics, particularly baseball and football. At the age of fifty-three, he met and married the love of his life, Laura Langston, with whom he shared twenty cherished years. He was honored to be called "Dad" by Jake, Laura's grandson, a relationship he valued deeply.

Mr. Burkholder is survived by his wife, Laura; his grandson Jake; his sisters, Bobbi and Paula; his brother, Milton; and numerous nieces and nephews who held him in great affection. His integrity, humor, and kindness will remain an enduring legacy to all who knew him.

A celebration of his life will be held in the spring of next year.
