Obituary

Lorrie Lynn Licht, 69 passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Chaplaincy Health Care in Kennewick, Washington on April 26, 2022. She was born March 28, 1953 to Thomas and Merle Sundin in Pasco, Washington. Lorrie graduated from Pendleton High School class of 1971, continued her education at Blue Mountain Community College in Pendleton, Oregon. Lorrie married Bill Licht on January 17, 1976 in Pendleton, Oregon. Lorrie and Bill have shared half a century together and their loving relationship is inspirational. Lorrie began her career working at US Bank in Kennewick, Washington. After Lorrie's second child Joey was born, she became a stay-at-home mom, a job she loved beyond words can describe. She was supportive of any sport or activity Sarah and Joey participated in and her favorite of all was being a soccer mom! Once both children were in school, Lorrie volunteered at Edison Elementary in the Kennewick School District. After many years of volunteering she was hired on as a Developmental Therapy Paraeducator. Her patience, love, and compassion for her students went above and beyond any expectations. Lorrie retired from the school district in 2017. Lorrie was an active member at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Kennewick, Washington. She was a third-grade religious education teacher for twenty years. She participated in the women's prayer group and volunteered countless hours around the church. Lorrie often visited those of the parish that were sick or alone. Her devotion to serving God and helping others was nothing short of amazing. Lorrie was loving, caring and a wonderful wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was everyone's biggest supporter with a heart of gold. Lorrie is survived by husband Bill Licht, and two children Sarah (Jack-husband) Flett and Joey (Maria-fiancé) Licht, siblings Darlene (Bill) Ledbetter, Sharon (Chuck) Sturgis, Diane Royal, Terre Peek, Tom (Sally) Sundin, Lynette (Jim) Haines, Theresa (Ernie) Vienhage, Shelly Knudson, and Tim (Cheryl) Sundin, and six grandchildren Emmet, Conner, Elijah, Tyren, Gracie, and Santana. Lorrie is preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Merle Sundin, brother-in-law Greg (Diane) Royal, mother-in-law Lorraine Licht, father-in-law Cletus Licht, and grandchild Layla Jamie Joy Licht. Funeral services will be held May 7, 2022 and are as follows: open casket viewing 9-10:30am at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home 1401 S. Union Kennewick, Wa; Rosary and open casket viewing 11:00am at Christ the King Catholic Church Richland, Wa with funeral mass beginning at 12:00pm at Christ the King Catholic Church. Burial immediately following at Mueller's Desert Lawn Memorial Park 1401 S. Union Kennewick, Wa.
