Loretta Smith age 78, was born in Hoover, Washington on September 28, 1932. She passed away December 16, 2010 in Kennewick, Washington. She spent her earliest years in Wallula, Washington, and received her education there.. On April 24, 1948 Loretta married William E. Smith in Pasco. They made their home in Pasco and raised their family there. She was a bus driver for the Pasco School District for over 20 years. Loretta was a member of Rebekah's Lodge and Royal Neighbors. She was active with the Democratic Party through several elections. She was an avid sports fan, especially supporting the Pasco Bulldogs, but not their "Referees". Loretta loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her home was always a gathering place. She enjoyed crocheting, embroidering and crafts. Loretta is survived by five daughters, Sandy Dave Smith, of Basin City, Washington, Betty Don Perkins of Pasco, Washington, Carolyne Dave Stephenson of Mesa, Washington, Stella Jim Heffley of Ontario, Oregon, and Loretta "Lori" Rey Trevino of West Richland, Washington;10 grandchildren, and, 3 step grand children, 20 great grandchildren, and 5 step great grandchildren, three sisters; Betty Schubert of Milton Freewater, Oregon, Violet Nagley of Spokane, Washington, and Velma Berry of Portland, Oregon; her brother-in-law, Clarence "LeRoy" Smith of Kingman, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill Smith on March 27, 1985; by her parents Elbert and Lillian Derting; her step father Bert Smith; 2 sisters, Deloris Shook and Stella Olsen; niece Gail Olsen; and a great granddaughter Miranda Katherin. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 21, 2010 from 2-8:00pm at the funeral home. The funeral service will be Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at 11:00am at Mueller's Greenlee Funeral Home, 1608 W Court St, in Pasco, with interment to follow at City View Cemetery.
