Loretta Blackburn Falk, 75, went to be with our Lord January 4, 2019 at her home. Her husband, Greg Falk, of 36 years and her step daughter, Jennifer Falk Bourgon, were with her when she passed. Her son William Eugene Farriss and her grandson William Daniel Farriss spent the previous week with her. She had been in severe pain for two years, but her trust in the Lord made her never give up hope. She was born in Washington DC to William Blackburn and Lessie Carr Blackburn. She graduated from Edgewater High School and with determination, continued reading and taking advantage of all educational opportunities rose to become Executive Assistant to the President of the New York Times Affiliated Group, with the Publishers of 17 affiliated newspapers turning in reports to her. She was at home with the Theater and the gym. She had two loves, the Lord and her family. Although her idea of camping was taking the RV to the nice hotel, she was completely comfortable with the outdoors, hiking the seven sacred pools of Maui, and rock climbing; as long as she could return to an indoor shower. She enjoyed reading all kinds of books and being with her grandchildren. She leaves behind her husband Greg, children Bill (Julie) and Jennifer (Michael), grandchildren Daniel, Lessie, and Tatiana; sisters Carol and Wanda (Chris), and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held, Saturday, January 19 at 2:00PM, preceded by the Rosary at St Joseph Catholic Church, 506 S Garfield St. She requested that any donations in her honor be made to Edith Bishel Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired, 628 N Arthur St, Kennewick, WA 99336. She was deeply loved and will be sorely missed.
