Lola Elizebeth Moore Frederick, age 95, passed away January 31, 2011 at The Fraser Home in Powder Springs Georgia. Lola was born on August 21, 1915 near Tyron, Nebraska to Frank Roy Moore and Grace Mae Montgomery Moore. At seventeen, Lola met Bert Frederick. The Frederick Amusement Company carnival was in town. Grandpa Jim Montgomery had the ?wheel of fortune? concession and introduced them. Then, while Lola was riding the Ferris Wheel, Bert climbed around the moving wheel and planted himself in the seat next to Lola. Lola married Bert the next year on April 29, 1934 in North Platte Nebraska. Grandpa Jim said later that the match was his plan all along. In the summers they traveled with the family-owned carnival, living in a small home-built trailer pulled by one of the ride trucks. Bert and Lola lived on a 40 acre farm on Finley Road in Finley for more than 40 years. During the early years with the dairy, Lola would drive a trailer load of 10-gallon ?cream cans? with the cooled and separated milk and cream to Spreen?s Creamery in Kennewick. Later she helped with the farm and turkeys, planted and nurtured a vegetable garden and flower beds while raising 3 children and a bevy of cats, dogs, ducks, goldfish and other pets. She worked outside the home for a short period at Northern Life in Kennewick. After retirement Lola and Bert traveled with their RV and at each stop made new friends and enjoyed laughter and activities. When they settled in Yuma for their winters, they both played in pool leagues, Lola played Bocce Ball, taught knitting and learned to paint. They celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary before Bert's passing on 12/16/2000. She enjoyed singing and, even though she forgot the words, she would hum along till her last days. Lola was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bert, and Brother Francis ?Frannie? Moore. She is survived by daughters, JoAn Hartzell, Judy Johnston and Linda Heston and ?her boys? Warren Hartzell and Keith Heston; grandchildren, Robert Nelson Kevie, Rick Nelson Camille, Lori Herker, Dawn Johnston and Trish Jensen John; and great grand children Kristen Nelson Silva and Jack Alan Nelson, Sydney Nelson, Easton Nelson, Brynne Nelson, Natasha Olanday, Matthew Herker, Cathryn Newlun, Shane Swanson, Tabatha Steffen, Markus Satryb, Makenzie Jensen and Tristan Jensen; and great-great grandchildren Jenna Nelson, Jared Nelson, Merlyn Herker, Kordell Fields, Elisia Hood, Colin Hood, Alex Velasco, Isabelle Swanson, Conner Steffen, Haden Steffen, Mason Steffen, Hunter Steffen; nieces Twila Zeller, Lenna Lee Mullins formerly of Finley WA; Sandy and nephew Terry Moore formerly of Port Angeles WA.
