Lloyd Ermine Winther

January 10, 1944 – August 8, 2025

Lloyd Ermine Winther, age 81, passed away on August 8, 2025, in Kennewick, WA. Throughout his 81 years, he touched many lives with his spirit of love and serving with his love and living for his God.

Born on January 10, 1944, to Melvin and Myrtilla (Merle) Winther in Everett, WA, he was the elder of twin brothers, preceding Lyle by four minutes.

Lloyd passed away after 13 years of Alzheimer's disease and a short illness of congestive heart failure. He resided at Windsong Memory Care in Kennewick, WA. The family greatly appreciates the love and care shown towards Lloyd.

He is preceded in death by his parents Myrtilla (Merle) Hedahl Winther and Melvin Winther. He is survived by his wife of 57 years Nancy Winther of Kennewick, son Brian (Tara) Winther of Salt Lake City, daughter Jilene Winther of Kennewick, grandson Ian Winther of the USMC and granddaughter Tana Winther of Salt Lake City, sister Carol Hotchkiss of Puyallup, brother Lyle (Bonnita) Winther of Spokane, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Lloyd spent 40 years at Precision Motors with International Trucks as a parts journeyman in Everett, WA, retiring in 2008.

Lloyd met Nancy Hordyk when he was eight years old. They were married on July 22, 1968, in the yard of Nancy's parents' home in Everett, Washington. Together, Lloyd and Nancy welcomed their children, Brian and Jilene, and actively participated in their upbringing and various activities.

Lloyd chose to serve God and follow His son Jesus at 10 years old in the gospel meeting held by Gladys Weir and Charlotte Brown in his parent's home in Everett, WA. Lloyd was faithful in serving his God and others and was given the privilege of being an elder for Wednesday evening bible studies and had Sunday morning worship in his home from 1991 to 2015. Lloyd sincerely cared for God's people, and he fulfilled his calling as an elder by actively caring and loving others.

After being diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease Lloyd and Nancy chose to give up the Sunday morning meeting and moved to Mesa, AZ in 2016 to be closer to Jilene. They returned to Kennewick, WA in 2022 where they resided until his death.

Even during Lloyd's decline due to Alzheimer's, his spiritual love was still felt by others and was appreciated by all.

Lloyd's unwavering kindness and gentle guidance were a source of comfort and inspiration for his family and friends. He approached every challenge with humility and faith, always extending a helping hand and a listening ear to those in need. His laughter and wit were quick and warm, and his wisdom helped many.

Public Viewing Monday, August 18, 2025 from 5:00PM - 8:00PM. Funeral Service Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at 10:00AM located at Mueller's Funeral Home, 1401 S. Union St. Kennewick.

There will be a lite luncheon following after the service at the Red Lion in Kennewick 1101 N. Columbia Center Blvd.
