Obituary

Lloyd (Butch) Curtis Wright passed away peacefully on August 11, 2024, at the age of 85. He was born on November 2, 1938, in Long Beach, California, to Arthur Merle Wright and Jesse Glenn Finch. He was raised by his step-father, Fred Walker, and was blessed to have younger siblings, John and Alice Walker. Lloyd and John had a lifelong, close relationship. Lloyd married Marilene Williams in 1957, and they raised 5 children.

Lloyd spent 4 years in the Navy as a jet mechanic which allowed him to spend some time in Japan. Following his Navy service he spent an additional 17 years in Army and Air National Guard. He was proud to serve his country. Although he spent most of his life in the Pacific Northwest, he loved to travel. He joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 1963 and enjoyed a life of missionary work, temple work and church activity. Lloyd loved music and had a lovely singing voice. He enjoyed playing the accordion and a few tunes on the piano. He also liked football and was proud to watch his son's high school football games. He was fond of old cowboy and war movies and all things chocolate! He appreciated airplanes and was very proud to have a private pilot's license.

In 2004 Lloyd married Martha Obregon. Shortly after marriage they moved to Peru. In the 5 years he was there he grew to love Martha's children and grandchildren and did his best to stay in touch with them after Martha passed away and he moved back to the states.

At the young age of 79, Lloyd was blessed to marry Sharron, and she has been a wonderful wife and companion to him. They enjoyed camping, dancing, movies and traveling. Lloyd was fortunate to enjoy the company of Sharron's children and grandchildren.

Lloyd is survived by his loving wife, Sharron, his brother, John, his children Dan Wright (Nancy), Chuck

Wright (Jeanette), Char Hancock, Jeff Wright (Martha) and Andy Wright (Cindy), his 19 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father, Merle, his step-father, Fred, his mother, Jesse, his sister Alice and his wife, Martha.
