Obituary

Linton Ray Sims, age 68 of Pasco, Washington, passed away at home on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.

Linton was born in Pasco, Washington, May 6, 1957 to the late Mattie and Willie Sims Sr. He graduated from Pasco High School with the class of 1976. Linton and Shawn Ozaki were married in 2017 and had been together for 23 years.

Linton was employed and worked at the Hanford site as a Nuclear Chemical Operator until his retirement for over 30 years. He had a "green thumb" and took great pride in the appearance of his yard, working endlessly to maintain it's pristine condition. His hard work especially paid off when he was awarded Pasco Yard Of The Month in July 2018.

He enjoyed fishing with his son and friends, loved the Seahawks, even when they were losing, enjoyed taking trips to Leavenworth with Shawn, and just had lots of fun taking "tons" of day trips hopping in the pickup with no destination. Linton also owned several Bulldogs with which he had a deep bond and brought him joy. One of his favorite things to do was spending time with them at the dog park.

Linton was a family man, who enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. Whether it was cooking and baking with them, attending family dinners together on holidays and birthdays, camping together or just babysitting the grands, he felt spending this time together was important. He was also very supportive of their participation in sports.

Linton is preceded in death by his mother Mattie Sims, father Willie Sims Sr., sister Elinda Faye Griffin and grandmother Essie Mae Osborn.

He leaves to mourn his wife Shawn, sons: Donovan Jackson-Sims (Jessica) of Pasco, WA, Jared Ozaki (Brianne) of Spokane, WA, Marlin Phillips (Karen) of San Antonio, TX and Sean Linton Sims (Tori R.) of Nampa, ID, daughters: Danielle Blakesley (Craig) of Spokane WA, and Tessa Joyce (Jason) of Chandler, AZ, sister: Gertha Sims (Steve Lassiter) of Renton, WA, and brothers: Daniel & Willie Sims of Pasco, WA Victyrone Sims of West Richland, WA.

Linton will also leave to mourn 16 grandchildren and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
