Beloved mother and grandmother Lilly May Snyder passed away peacefully November 14, 2008 in Richland, WA, with her family at her bedside. Lilly had suffered a recent fall and was never able to regain her strength. Lilly May Bones was born October 14, 1919 in Lela, Texas. Her maternal grandfather was a traveling minister who won an award for the most miles traveled by horse and buggy. Lilly May's mother, Mabel Roxanne Hopkins, would travel with her grandfather and play the pump organ at the various stops they made. On one of these trips Mabel Roxanne met George Elias Bones and sometime after they were married. They had 4 children, Howard, Ruby, Lilly May, and Jeanne. Lilly May's mother died when she was 11, her father passed away when she was 15. She graduated from Connell High School in 1938, she worked on various farms doing the cooking and cleaning and taking care of their children. She was a bookkeeper at the Connell Grange Supply for 9 years. Lilly May married Carl R. Snyder on April 23, 1956, he was the love of her life and they were together for 34 years until his passing in 1990. She always said she got the most happiness from her husband, her children and her grandchildren. Lilly May is survived by her son Bruce Snyder and wife Teri of Connell, WA; daughter Noran Drouhard and husband Brian of Othello, WA; granddaughter Brianne Drouhard of Burbank, CA; grandson Adam Drouhard of Renton, WA; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. No services will be held at Lilly May's request. The family wishes to thank Richland Rehab for treating mom with the love and dignity she deserved during her time there.
