Obituary

Lillian Myrle Sullivan (formerly Lillian Jarvis), 79, was born on February 8, 1934 in Socorro, Texas and died peacefully in her sleep, Monday, March 18th, 2013, in Kennewick, Washington. Lillian was first and foremost a mother, wife, and homemaker; she worked as a bookkeeper for several businesses to help make ends meet, when needed. She had a sharp mind and enjoyed reading and spending time watching her great-grandchildren. She was ready to join her husband in heaven. After Lillian's husband passed away in 2001, her niece, Mary, wrote to her. She wondered what her mother would have said to comfort Lillian. Mary wrote, "She might have reminded you of a lovely young lady named Jackie, who fell in love with a dashing young man in uniform. They got married and she became "Lil." They had wonderful children who gave them equally wonderful grandchildren. She believed that in the fullness of time when you go to meet your maker - that your dashing young man will be waiting. He will be free of all cares and pain, bathed in peace and love, watching closely over those he loved, till that time when you will all be together. I think she would have envied you at the length of your journey together. To live and love a lifetime is its' own blessing." Lillian and Skip shared a great love and always had an open door to those in need even though they were never well off. Her family is comforted to know that Skip is watching over her now. She leaves behind daughters, Charlotte McAllister and husband Richard of Kennewick, Lynette Lacy of Richland, and Susan Cox and husband William of Richland; son, Gary Sullivan and his wife Xesia of Clarkston, Idaho; 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; sisters, Beverly Anderson and her husband Ray of Leeds, Utah and Betty York of Phoenix, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Minnie Jarvis. Lillian joins her husband, Delmer "Skip" Sullivan, who has been waiting for her for 12 years. Viewing will be held Thursday, March 21st, 2013, 6 to 8 p.m., at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home, 1401 S. Union Street, Kennewick. Funeral services will be Friday, March 22nd, 1:00 p.m., at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Olympia Building with an additional viewing beginning at Noon.
