Lillian Darlynne Solbrack (Duis)died peacefully on Feb 8 surrounded by family, 4 days before her 99th birthday.

Lillian, the oldest of seven daughters of Carl and Bertha Duis, was born Feb 12th, 1926 in Thief River Falls, MN. She attended rural schools until the age of 10, when she and her family moved to Hawick, MN. After graduating from High School Lillian attended and finished secretarial school in Mankato MN. She worked as a book keeper, then a telephone operator for National T.

On October 14, 1950 Lillian married Henry Solbrack at the Zion Lutheran Church in Paynesville, MN. They have been married for 74 yrs. In 1953 Lillian and Henry moved to the Othello area. Working with relatives, they started a land leveling business, opening up farm land in the Columbia Basin. Lillian and Henry lived in several locations around the Othello area, farming and ranching. They raised cattle together until 1996 at the age of 70. In 2011 they moved to Pasco.

Lillian was a wonderful home maker and Ranch wife. She loved gathering with family and friends; Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter were special times for her. Lillian and Henry were avid square-dancers and loved going to those events. She loved to work in her flower garden and grew beautiful roses. She was also an accomplished seamstress and sewed all her daughter's clothes and made over 100 denim quilts made from old jeans. Working with a quilting group at church, made quilts to gift to those in need. Lillian and Henry were charter members of the Pilgram Lutheran church in Othello, and Lillian taught Sunday School for several years. Daily devotion, prayer before meals, and church were normal life for the 5 Solbrack kids. Lillian loved to watch her grandchildren and great grandchildren play in sports and show their animals at the fair.

Lillian is preceded in death by 4 younger sisters and a grandson. Lillian is survived by her husband Henry, Pasco, her children Bev Hollenbeck (Ron) Pasco, Tom Solbrack (Vicki) Othello, Kriste Solbrack (Steve Fries) Wenatchee, Brad Solbrack (Missi) Richland, Karla Tatar (George) Rapid City SD, her sisters Elaine Solbrack Puyallup, and Estelle Pickle Wilmer MN, 10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews. A time for visitation has been set aside at Mueller's Greenlee Funeral Home on Monday, Feb 17, from 4pm to 8pm. Services will be held at Richland Lutheran Church, Tuesday Feb 18th, at 10am. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Good News Media Ministries (GNMM).
