Lawrence Charles Koeller July 30, 1935 - May 5, 2021 Lawrence Charles Koeller was born July 30, 1935 in Norfolk, Nebraska to Hubert Gerald and Genevieve May (Trennepohl) Koeller. Lawrence (known as "Larry") worked in physically demanding jobs since the age of 18. He was a mechanic, welder, heavy equipment and crane operator. He worked on dams, highways, bridges, minuteman missile bases, and was a crane operator for Hanford (canyon hot cells). These jobs took him all over the United States and his family moved with him. He finally settled in Tri-Cities, Washington in 1965. The Pacific Northwest allowed him to enjoy his favorite past times of hunting, fishing, and rock polishing. Larry loved to go tuna fishing on a charter boat. One of his favorite vacations was a cruise through the Panama Canal. He enjoyed and played football in high school and was a huge Seahawks fan. On February 14, 1998, Larry married Janet Marie (Anderson) and they celebrated their 23rd wedding anniversary this year. Larry was a member of the Operating Engineers Local 280 and Masonic Lodge in Richland. He retired from Hanford Fall/Winter 1994. Larry was diagnosed with leukemia in 2019 and lost this battle two years later. He never stopped fighting but we are thankful that he passed peacefully. He will be missed. He is survived by his wife, Janet; daughters: Brenda K. (Bill) Jentzen, Pamela J. Koeller, Lori M. (Dan) Dallas, son: Bryon C. Koeller; brother: Harold E. (Carol) Koeller; sister: Marlene A. Gardels; half-brothers: Paul W. (Debra) Koeller, Ronald V. (Connie) Koeller, 10 grandchildren: Brandon Jentzen, Izaak Grundvig, Devin Dallas, Maegen Dallas, Cody Koeller, Darian Koeller, Derick Koeller, Noah Koeller, Lucas Koeller, and Justin Koeller; great-grandson: Aspen Dallas; stepdaughter: Brenda L. Slack; step-grandsons: Kyler Bates, Bryson Slack and many nephews, nieces, and friends. A private family service will be held due to Covid-19.
