Larry D. Peterson passed away surrounded by love on February 2, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, loyalty and devotion to family and friends. He was born in Kellogg, Idaho on May 28, 1939 to Roy and Gertrude Peterson.

Larry attended Kellogg High School and one of his prize possessions was his 1957 Chevy Bel Air. He later proudly served in the United States Air Force, stationed in Boise, Idaho, where his three daughters were born. After serving, he returned home to the Silver Valley, where he worked for Bunker Hill until its shutdown in 1981. He later moved to the Tri-Cities, continuing his career at Hanford, where his skill, work ethic and attention to details were deeply respected.

A skilled craftsman, Larry, was both a Mechanic and Union Boilermaker by trade, known for his ability to fabricate and weld just about anything. Strong, precise and dedicated, he took great pride in his work. His hands told the story of a lifetime of honest labor. He left his mark, not only in steel, but in the lives of those who knew him.

In 1991 Larry married Carol. They enjoyed camping, snowmobiling and he always enjoyed a game of Cribbage. He cherished gatherings like the Bunker Hill dinners and Hanford breakfasts and could often be found relaxing in his lawn chair, with a beer in his hand, visiting with friends.

Above all, Larry loved his family. He was a strong, loyal, honest and proud man, whose steady presence and generous heart will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

Preceded in death by his parents, sisters Delores and Donna, wife Carol, son-in-law Mark and stepdaughter Kim.

Survived by daughters, Terri (Bob), Patti, Shelly (Jay), grandchildren Tiffany, Shala, Bryce, Makenzie, Jamee, Chandler and their spouses and 10 great-grandchildren.

Also survived by step daughter Rebecca (Rob), grandchildren Forrest, Nicole, Leah, Colton and their spouses and 11 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Larry's memory by visiting a friend, sharing a story, raising a glass or enjoying time together, just as he would have wanted.
