Obituary

Larry Lewis passed away on July 30, 2021 at the age of 71. He was born to Carl and Dorothy Lewis in Denver, Colorado on September 21, 1949. Larry grew up with his brother, Carl, in California and played baseball in high school. Shortly after high school, Larry enlisted in the Marines and served in Vietnam. When Larry returned home, he lived on a sailboat for three years just off Catalina Island. Larry moved to Dallas, Oregon where he lived for two years on a 40-foot bus doing odd jobs and working as a caretaker. Larry drove semi-truck driving long hauls surviving three accidents. In 1985, Larry was helping another driver when his arm was severed. Although the doctors were able to reattach his arm, the accident resulted in the end of Larry's driving career. Larry moved to Kennewick in the early 90's where he helped many friends. Larry was a caring and generous man who loved Jesus and was a member of Kennewick Baptist Church. Larry's firm belief in a forever home with Jesus for those who accept Him as their Savior, caused him to face cancer with courage, faith and peace. Larry is preceded in death by his mom, Dorothy, his dad, Carl, and his brother, Carl. Larry is much loved and will be greatly missed. Graveside services with military honors will be held at Desert lawn Memorial Park at 1401 South Union Street in Kennewick, on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 10:00am followed by an 11:30am Memorial Service held at Kennewick Baptist Church, 2425 W. Albany Avenue in Kennewick.
