Larry obituary
Larry D. Garner was born in December of 1942 to Loan D. and LaraEtta Garner in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Though born in Oklahoma, his family later set down roots in Kennewick, WA. There, he was an accomplished and acclaimed pipe fitter with Local 598, where he had the opportunity to use his trade in projects all over the United States. After retiring from pipe fitting, a man of many hats, he sold real estate and owned a car lot.
He was always ahead of his time and had a deep appreciation for knowledge and expansion. In high school, he met his future best friend, love, and wife, Marge Garner (neé Morby), and they began a lifelong relationship in 1970. Shortly thereafter, he took on the role of stepfather to Laura, David Ian, and Kelly Johnson. He traveled the world with Marge and was particularly fond of Hawai'i and Australia. It was his dream to buy a compound in Australia and move all his family there.
Larry lived a long, colorful life on his terms and at the age of 81 he passed away on February 3, 2024 in Tri-Cities. He is preceded in death by his parents, Loan and LaraEtta; his stepdaughter, Kelly. His memory lives on in his wife, Marge; his step children David Ian and Laura and her children.
The family would like to extend gratitude to everyone who loved and cared for Larry over the years. Cards and flowers can be sent to his wife, Marge. Care of Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral home 1401 S. union St. Kennewick, Wa 99337.
