Lanell Adams, 72, of Burbank, WA, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2026, in Richland, WA after a brief illness.

Lanell was born on December 16, 1953, in Clovis, New Mexico to James and Zandra Trower. Growing up, she attended Carlsbad High School and later studied at New Mexico State University, where she graduated with a degree in Physical Education, and enjoyed playing collegiate softball.

Lanell had a deep love for the outdoors. She spent several years working as a Ranger at the Carlsbad Caverns National Park, sharing her passion for conservation and nature with visitors. She later moved to Washington for her career with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, eventually settling in Burbank.

Lanell also served her community as a volunteer firefighter and EMT with the Walla Walla County Fire District. It was through this service that she met her husband, Randy, who shared her dedication to helping others.

Lanell and Randy were married on July 21, 1990 at the Baptist Church in Burbank and celebrated their reception in Hood Park surrounded by many friends and family.

She dedicated more than 40 years of service to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers before her retirement. In retirement, Lanell enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially taking her boat out on the Snake River to fish. She also loved traveling, attending Seattle Mariners baseball games, visiting Las Vegas for fun and relaxation, taking a memorable cruise to Alaska, where she could once again enjoy the natural beauty, she loved so much.

Lanell is survived by her loving husband, Randy; her children Linda and Galen; and her two grandchildren whom she adored, Presley and Matthew. She is also survived by her twin sister, Machelle Tackett and her sister Shawna (Don) Hitchcock; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Zandra Trower; her brother, Larry Tower; and her brother-in-law David Tackett.

A memorial service will be held March 28, 2026 at 1:00pm at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home located at 10th and Union in Kennewick.
