Kyle Upton passed away at his home in Kennewick on Oct.12th at the age of 41.

Born in Mount Vernon WA. on June 23 1985. Kyle grew up on Camano Island where he attended school in Stanwood.

Kyle had a love for the water, learning to swim at age 5 in the community pool at Lost Lake on Camano Island. He moved to the Tri Cities at age 12 and graduated from Richland High School in 2004. After graduation, Kyle took off to travel and backpacked around Europe. He loved learning about foreign cultures and meeting the people.

Kyle earned a 4-year Bachelor’s degree from Washington State University in Richland after which he took a job with Bechtel.

Kyle loved the outdoors and found joy in snowboarding, wakeboarding, biking, hiking with his dogs and working on the home he purchased in Kennewick.

Kyle was incredibly witty, probably one of the quickest-witted people you could ever meet. He had a way of making people laugh when they least expected it, and his humor was something those who knew him will never forget.

He also loved his animals fiercely. They were more than pets to Kyle; they were family, and the love and devotion he gave them spoke to the tenderness in his heart.

Kyle is survived by his parents, Tracie Nystuen, Kirk and Larena Upton, his sister, Amber Ochsner; his brother-in-law, Phil Ochsner; his nephews and niece, Cooper, Carson, and Charlotte. Kyle was preceded in death by his grandparents Earl Upton and Ken and Barbara Nystuen. He will be deeply missed by his family and by all those fortunate enough to have known and loved him.
