Kristen May
Ling
Oct 7, 1991 — Aug 22, 2026
Kennewick
Kristen May Ling was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister and Aunt. She left us too soon on August 22nd, 2026.
Kristen was born on October 7th, 1991 to Lloyd Benson and Cathy Wulf in Sioux city, Iowa. She moved to Kennewick, Washington around 12 years old. She graduated from Kennewick High School in 2011. Kristen loved shooting her bow, camping, kayaking and playing the drums.
Kristen and future husband Jacob met at his parents’ house in summer 2009 from a mutual friend, they became good friends right away. Their friendship grew until they started dating on November 1st, 2011. They were inseparable ever since. They got married May 7th, 2021 and had 3 children. Johnathan, Connor and Elsie. Bought a house together and planned for a bright future.
Kristen lived a life defined by kindness, faith, and love. She loved Jesus Christ with all her heart. Kristen and Jacob put their children in private Christian school at Bethlehem Lutheran for a God centered education.
Kristen fought a relentless neurological condition, Bipolar 1 and Schizophrenia. It took so much from her the last 4 years of her life. The happy woman we all knew turned quiet and reclusive. Despite countless appointments, doctors and hospitals, her condition grew worse with several medications and the side effects from them. She tried her best, weight training, lifestyle and diet. She became very athletic physically in the process. She was dedicated to staying strong for her family.
Kristen and Jacob shared 15 wonderful years together in this life. Through every joy and every hardship, they remained devoted and faithful to one another.
Kristen is survived by her beloved husband, Jacob, her children: Johnathan, Connor and Elsie. her father Lloyd Benson. Her mother Cathy Wulf. Her grandmother Mary Kristin Benson and aunt Julie Asbell. While our hearts suffer here without her, we are grateful that she is now at peace in heaven above.
