Kenneth Edward Schwartz was born in the territory of Hawaii on May 20, 1944 to Carl Edward and Blanche Ann Schwartz. His loving parents and maternal grandparents were all residing there when the attack on Pearl Harbor occurred on December 7, 1941.
Ken enlisted in the Navy in 1964 and was honorably discharged in 1974. While in the Navy he served honorably on the following submarines:
USS Sea Fox (SS-402)
USS Tautog(SSN-639)
USS Scamp (SSN 588)
USS Mariano Vallejo (SSBN-658)
While living in California he met his wife Madelyn and married her after a one month courtship. They knew they were meant to be together and enjoyed 50 wonderful years of marriage. They began their married life in northern CA but moved to eastern WA after a job offer from Westinghouse Hanford in 1978 where they began their new life in the Tri-Cities. Ken worked in the Hanford area for 25 years before retiring in 1999.
Ken is survived by his wife Madelyn, son Kevin and wife Sherri, daughter Melissa, and grandsons Kyle and Ryan. Siblings Kathy Deis, husband Dan, Kris Schwartz, wife Linda and Karen Williams. He is also survived by all of his brothers-in-law Fred(Anita) Andy(Lisa) Rich, and Jim Delgado and their families, and numerous nieces and nephews.
His passing is a great loss to family and many wonderful friends. He had a great life and lived by the motto "everything in moderation" and
" I choose not to let it bother me"
See you on the other side, Ken. We all loved you and are so glad you were a part of our lives. You will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
