Kenneth David Rouse was born on January 16th, 1928 in Tacoma, Washington. He passed away on June 11, 2014 at the age of 86. His parents were Ida and Elmer Rouse. His father, Elmer, died a few months after Ken's birth. His mother later married Chris Seifert. Kenny attended school in Prosser and Dayton, Washington. He served four years in the Marine Corps during WWII. Ken met and married the love of his life, Joyce Ellen Seat Rouse. They were married for over 50 years. They were blessed with a son, Lawrence David Rouse (wife Melinda), daughter Shauna Rene Rouse Guajardo (husband Rudy), and two daughters from a previous marriage: Dianne Louise Turner (husband Jerry) and Corrine Alice Ray (husband Mark). Ken worked as a lumberjack for Simpson Logging Co., a radiographer for Pittsburg Testing Lab, and a security guard for Tyson Foods. He also boxed under the name "Billy Stormy". Ken's favorite profession, however, was as a Teamster. He worked for Golden Grain Trucking and was promoted to Road Boss. He also drove for many local and long-haul firms. He then went to work at Hanford and retired from the Teamsters at the age of 84. He also served as a paid-call firefighter for Walla Walla County Fire District #5 for over twenty years. Kenny was a charter member of Trinity Baptist Church in Burbank and served as an usher his entire membership until his illness prevented him from doing so. He received an attendance pin from Emmanuel Baptist Church for over twelve years of "not missing" a Sunday School service. His brother, Roy Rouse, preceded him in death as did his mother, father, stepfather and an infant daughter. He leaves to miss him terribly; his wife Joyce, daughter Shauna Guajardo, son Lawrence Rouse, daughter Dianne Turner, daughter Corrine Ray, sister Ida Marie (Tiny) Lockard, ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 18th, at Desert Lawn Memorial Park with viewing on Tuesday, June 17th, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home on Union Street in Kennewick. A Celebration of His Life will be held at Trinity Baptist Church, 62 Florence Court, Burbank on June 18th at 1:00 p.m. Ken's greatest loves were God, his family, his dog Buddie, and the Seattle Seahawks. Our family requests, if possible, please wear green and blue or a Seahawks shirt for his service as the Seahawks winning the Super Bowl was one of the highlights of his life!
