Kenneth Ray Neal

Ken Neal, a beloved father, grandfather, and husband passed away at 9:20pm on August 24, 2025. He died at the age of 79 in the house that he himself built, surrounded by the children and grandchildren he helped to raise. He was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 54 years, Robin Lee Anne Neal, in 2021. He leaves behind two children, Karen of Kennewick, WA, and Bronson of Seattle, WA; and one grandchild, Hunter Moorman of Kennewick, WA.

Ken's mother Bettie Neal passed away in Kennewick in 1984, and through her branch of the family Ken has relatives in the Missouri/Kansas/Arkansas area, to include cousin Rosanna Hodge. His Aunt Bonnie Ballenger passed away at the age of 91 in March of this year in Springfield, MO. His cousin Dennis Ballenger passed away at the age of 70 in 2024 in Springfield, MO.

Ken was born in Wichita, KS and graduated from Kennewick High School in Kennewick, WA in 1963. At Washington State University, Ken was pleased to be a member of the Delta Tau Delta Fraternity. After graduation from WSU, he and his new bride Robin moved to Seattle, WA. One of his first jobs there was with the Boeing Company. While living in Seattle he completed the MBA program at the University of Washington. In 1978 Ken and his family moved to the Tri-Cities, WA where he worked at the Hanford Nuclear reservation. Ken purchased a basement only dwelling in Finley and spent the next several years teaching himself how to construct the single-family home that exists there today. After taking an early retirement from "the area" he enjoyed spending winters at his vacation home in Buckeye, AZ. This most recent winter was the first time he was unable to make the trip to Arizona in 20 years. He greatly missed his winter routine of sunny weather, MLB spring training games, and car shows as a snowbird.

Ken loved to read, attend car shows, water his maple trees he grew from saplings (while getting a tan), and take drives in his convertibles. He is buried at the Desert Lawn Memorial Park in Kennewick, WA; where he is buried next to his late wife, with a gravestone adorned with memento images of books and a sports car.
