Kathleen (Kathy) M. Olsen passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on August 30, 2013, after a brief stay at the Tri-Cities Chaplaincy Hospice House in Kennewick. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Anna White, daughter, Robin Whitten, three sisters and a brother. She is survived by her husband of 15 years, Judge Jack Olsen, daughter Sheree (Don) Norquist of Chelmsford, Massachusetts, son Larry (Karen) Whitten of Pasco, Washington, stepsons, Kurt (Dena) Olsen of Pilot Rock, Oregon, and Eric Olsen of Portland, Oregon, and a stepdaughter, Debra (David) Paine of Tucson, Arizona, two sisters and her grandchildren. Kathy was a longtime resident of the Tri-Cities where she was actively involved over the years in church work, with the Tri-City Ski Club, as owner of Tepee Plus, and in many other activities. She greatly enjoyed traveling throughout Oregon with Jack as he held court in various counties in Oregon in his service as Circuit Court Judge. Kathy was a member of Columbia Community Church in Richland and previously volunteered with Jack regularly at the Edith Bishel Center for the Blind. She was well known at Columbia Center Rotary where she attended functions with Jack, an active rotary member. Private services have been held.
