Kathleen McBride, 79, passed away in Spokane, Washington, on April 23, 2026. Born on October 21, 1946, in Pasco, Washington, Kathleen was the beloved daughter of John "Shorty" Cloninger and Lucille Cloninger.

Kathleen was a woman of deep faith, quiet strength, and extraordinary kindness. She lived her life with grace, warmth, and a gentle spirit that touched everyone around her. She was the kind of person who always had a smile to share, a caring word to offer, and a way of making others feel seen, welcomed, and loved.

Her sweetness, compassion, and steady faith were at the heart of who she was. She brought warmth and care into everything she did, and her love for her family and faith guided her throughout her life.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents, John "Shorty" Cloninger and Lucille Cloninger; her husband, Richard McBride; and her previous husband, Sol Freeman.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Sol and Melissa Freeman II; her step-children and their spouses, Melinda and Tom Whitmore, Colleen and John Jensen, Karl and Nora McBride, and Ben and Julie McBride; her grandchildren, Jordan Freeman, Devin Jones, Trenton Jones, Kate Watson, Josh McBride, Erica Kingsbury, Zach McBride, Bryan Whitmore, Kris McBride, Tyler Jensen, Morgan Schafer, Tricia Hernandez, Amanda Gibbs, Scott McBride, Kylee McBride, Brianna McBride, and Patrick Maeder; 24 great-grandchildren with one on the way; and her brother and sister-in-law, Steven and Mary Cloninger.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Kathleen's life on Saturday, May 30, at 11:00 a.m. at First Methodist Church in Kennewick, Washington.

Kathleen's family takes comfort in knowing that her faith sustained her, her love surrounded them, and her memory will continue to be a blessing.
