My beautiful wife, Kathi, sadly passed away on April 26, 2023, at home from ovarian cancer. She is now in the comforting arms of the Lord she loved so much…free of pain, young again, and more beautiful than ever. She was born in South Dakota. Adopted at 2 years old, with her brother and sister into a very toxic and abusive family environment. In spite of this, she had a beautiful soul, a smile that would warm your heart, and her devotion to God was obvious to everyone who knew and loved her. She was my best friend, companion, lover, confidant and soul mate for the 40 plus years we were together. I always told her that we were married at birth…it just took time for us to find each other. There was a definite bond/connection between us that was noted by everyone we met. She was a devoted mother to all our children with a special love that could not be measured.

Kathi was an award-winning author, a published poet, motivational speaker, workshop facilitator, and provided individual life coaching for those in need. In her professional past, she was an escrow official in the Yakima area. She was sworn in by a Supreme Court judge as Washington's first limited escrow officer. She has been active in professional and community affairs in Yakima. Kathi has been a feature speaker at the YWCA, Yakima Parks and Recreation, was an instructor at the Yakima Community College, and was recognized by the real estate community as "Affiliate of the Year" two years running. In 1989, she was nominated as "Person of the Year" for Yakima.

She was preceded in death by two of her brothers, and a sister.

Her memorial service will be at the Richland Church of Christ, 933 Thayer Drive, Richland, Washington, May 27, 2023, at 1:00 PM.
