Kathleen Bess Wells Dodson (Kennewick), 61, died on March 3, 2014, in Richland, WA. She was born October 18, 1952, in Bend, OR to parents Bob and Jean Wells (Eltopia). On November 30, 1974, she married Dwight James Dodson. She lived in the Columbia Basin her whole life. Kathy graduated from Marylhurst University in 1974 and worked as a Social Worker with Department of Social and Health Services for 22 years. She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and St. Patrick's Catholic Church. She loved music and was a member of church choirs her whole life and was also a beloved member of Serendipty Strings musical group for the past 5 years. During her retirement, in addition to spending time with her beloved grandchildren, Kathy volunteered with many community organizations, including the Council for Children, Safe Harbor Crisis Nursery and Grace Clinic. Kathy is survived by her daughter Alisha, her two sons Jack (Dorrie) Dodson and Riley (Sarah) Dodson, her six sisters Betty (Shawn) Kaber, Patty (Kim) Wells, Nancy (Dan) McGee, Roberta Engel, Susan Wells, Judy (Steve) Wells; ten grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Jean Wells. A rosary vigil will be held at Mueller's Greenlee Funeral Home in Pasco on Thursday, March 6, 2014, at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Resurrection will be on Friday, March 7, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Pasco. Inurnment will take place at Columbia Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Pasco. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Kathy's honor to Benton-Franklin Counties Council for Children, 1111 N. Grant PL, Kennewick, WA 99336.
