Kari Kristine Bauer, a long-time resident of Benton City, died peacefully at home on February 8, 2016. Though not in good health during her last few years, Kari always tried to maintain her naturally sunny disposition. Her cheerful face will be sorely missed by all of her family and many friends. Kari was born August 2, 1966 in Moscow Idaho, the eldest child of the marriage of John M. (Mike) Parke and Lynne E. Parke. She moved to the Tri-Cities with her parents in 1969 and grew up in a house on Willamette Avenue in Kennewick. She attended Kamiakin High School, where she graduated in 1983. Kari married David E. Bauer on November 7, 1987. She and her husband had two children, Ashley Marie and David Ray, born in 1988 and 1992 respectively. In 1991 Kari and Dave bought a house on Cora Lane in Benton City. This was the residence where she lived for the rest of her life. Kari was predeceased by her mother in 2011. She is survived by her husband and two children plus one granddaughter. She is also survived by her father, her sister, and by two brothers.
