Judy Kay Bedell Surrounded by family and friends at Kadlec Hospital Judy passed into eternity February 5, 2014 to now reside with her Lord in that place He has prepared. She is survived by her husband and life partner of nearly 40 years, Phillip Bedell; daughters, Alicia Sanborn and Amanda Grigg; grandchildren, Devon Boisoneau, Annabella and Jacqueline Sanborn. In addition Judy is survived by her mother Rosa Mae Callaway and brothers Keith, Jerry, Wayne and Raymond. Judy was preceded in death by her father Ernest Callaway; sisters, Delores Flint and Donna Brown. Judy began her life's journey at her birth in Carnegie, Oklahoma June 6, 1950. One of seven siblings of parents Ernest and Rosa Mae Callaway. Judy spent most of her childhood and adolescent years in the Tri-Cities, moving to northern California after completing her junior year of high school. In 1972, Judy met Phillip Bedell and on November 2, 1974 they were married, beginning a journey encompassing nearly 40 years. Moving back to the Tri-Cities in 1997, Judy was wife, mother, Nana (grandmother) and homemaker. Judy was a devoted, faithful and loving follower of Jesus Christ with a heart attitude of service, kindness and love. She was always thinking of the needs of others first. She dedicated her life as a servant/volunteer, whether supporting the Red Cross as a blood donor or as an organ donor at her death, giving her corneas to help give sight to the sightless. As a member of First Baptist Church of Richland, she served in nursery and supported the Mothers of Preschoolers program. In addition, she always made herself available to provide childcare for her grandchildren. Judy was a loving, incredible human being, she will be greatly missed and not forgotten by her family and friends. Private graveside services for the family will be held at City View Cemetery. The family would like to invite friends and church family to a memorial service and reception to celebrate Judy's life on February 20, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Richland, 1107 Wright Ave. Richland, WA 99354 (509) 943-8421. Memorial donations in Judy's name are suggested to The Chaplaincy 1480 Fowler St. Richland, Washington and to the Gideons International so that the word of God may reach the world. In addition, it is recommended that memorial gifts of flowers to be acquired from Arlene's Flowers of Richland to ensure consistency in Judy's favorite colors and to coordinate delivery to the church.
