Judith Cassandra "Judy" Myrick, 85, of Richland, Washington, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2025.

Born January 6, 1940, in Hays, Kansas, to Hubert Anderson and Helen Wilds, Judy grew up in Dodge City with her brother, Hale, and sister, Janice. She loved sports at a time when opportunities for girls were limited, and she carried that competitive spirit throughout her life. After graduating from Dodge City High School in 1958, she moved to New Mexico with her family. In 1960, while living in Farmington, she met and married Ralph Myrick. They later lived in Ojai, California for one year, before settling in Richland in 1968, where Ralph accepted a teaching position at Jefferson Elementary.

Judy worked for the Richland School District from 1972 until her retirement in 2000, serving as a secretary at Richland High School, Marcus Whitman Elementary, and Chief Joseph Middle School. She was steady, reliable, and kind. She was someone both staff and students could count on.

Outside of work, Judy built a life filled with simple joys, including gardening and tending to her precious roses. She cherished her weekly Bible study group, a circle of women who became lifelong friends. After retiring, she took up golf and went on to win championships and score two hole-in-ones. She spent many years on a bowling league at Atomic Lanes, known for throwing perfectly straight, consistent shots. Judy also enjoyed painting acrylic scenes of the Kansas prairie where she grew up, sewing beautiful dresses for herself, her daughter, and granddaughter, and making handmade cards and crafts for any occasion.

Judy was a dedicated mother to Steven Scott Myrick, Neal Myrick (Paul), and Cassandra (Myrick) Spenner (Kevin), and a proud Nana to Emily Heston (Adam), Max Myrick-Teske, Carter Spenner, and Brennan Spenner. She supported her children and grandchildren with unwavering love and taught all of them how to make Nana's sprinkle cookies, her signature treat.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Ralph; her children and grandchildren; her brother, Hale Anderson; her sister, Janice (Anderson) Fales; and many nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her deeply.

Judy was lovingly cared for in her final months by hospice and the staff at Nurturing Haven Adult Family Home, for which her family is profoundly grateful. She faced the challenges of her last months with grace and strength, and she died peacefully, surrounded by family.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Dementia Association or The Tri-Cities Chaplaincy in Judy's memory.
