Judith Kathleen Gradwohl Brinson was born February 13, 1942 in the family home at 208 W. Marple, Walla Walla, Washington. She attended Walla Walla schools, graduating from WAHI in 1960, where she was active in Choir, Glee Club and other school activities. Judy attended Columbia Basin College and Washington State University. It was while at CBC that she met Robert Brinson, Jr. in the spring of 1962. They were married September 2nd of that year in the then Evangelical and Reformed Church on West Maple Street. They eventually made their home in Kennewick s West Highlands where they raised their two daughters. Judy was a good Mom and a good friend to all who passed through her life. She was a powerful protective force as she raised her girls, seeing that they got off to a good start in life. In her prime Judy loved gardening, and was proud of her beautiful flower beds and huge vegetables. Her thumb was certainly green and it was her favorite color. She sold Avon Products for nearly 20 years, achieving President s Club status for the majority of those years. Growing very close to her customers she viewed her time with them as a ministry than a business. Judy was active in the fellowship of the Kennewick First Christian Church, serving as a Deaconess and chair of the Membership Ministry. She was serving on the Pastoral search committee when Alzheimer s disease began to tighten its grip on her. Alzheimer s disease slowly took her from us over the past 10 years, and she was rescued and taken home by Jesus on September 11, 2009. Judy is survived by her husband of 47 years, Robert; daughter Kathy Brinson and wife Patty Kabage, and grandson Jesse, daughter Becky Marty, husband Steve and grandchildren Samuel, Daniel, Michael and Anna; sister Shirley Dement of Kennewick and sister Nancy Austin of Walla Walla. Her mother and father Anna and William Gradwohl of Walla Walla preceded her in death. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, September 16, 2009, 10:00am, at Desert Lawn Memorial Park, 10th & Union Street, Kennewick, followed by a Memorial Service at 11am at Kennewick First Christian Church, 1921 S. Olympia, Kennewick. Memorials may be made in Judy s memory to Kennewick First Christian Church, Tri-Cities Chaplaincy Hospice House and to the Alzheimer s Foundation.
