Joyce Marlene Hodgson passed away January 10, 2025 in Kennewick, Washington. She was born August 9, 1938 in Walla Walla, Washington to Floyd and Mabel Hodgson.
The family moved to the Tri-Cities where she attended and graduated from Kennewick High School in 1956. Following high school, Joyce attended Beauty School to become a cosmetologist and later went on to run a local beauty shop.
In May of 1957 she married Robert (Bob) Tyrrell. Together they raised two children, Rebecca and Rick.
Joyce and her husband Bob went on to own and run a food service business. For many years they operated B&J Concessions at the Benton-Franklin County Fairgrounds. Joyce and close friend Loretta, owned and operated the Calico Kitchen at the Tri-City Auto Auction. Bob and Joyce also raised and showed Welsh Ponies.
Joyce loved to cook for friends and family and was well known for her apple pies, apple dumplings, and homemade breads.
They enjoyed square dancing, playing cards and enjoying the company of family and many lifelong friends.
In their spare time he enjoyed traveling in their RV, often working as campground hosts on their adventures.
She is survived by her brother John Hodgson, 2 children, Rebecca Boyce and Rick Tyrrell (wife Kim), 7 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
